We avoid
Replacing panels that do not need it.
Full rescreen

Structural aluminum work, which is a separate trade.

What happens to pool cage screens in Tampa Bay
Sun, storms and humidity each leave a different kind of damage.
Sun-rotted mesh
Years of Florida sun fade the mesh and make it brittle.
Press a panel gently. If it cracks or sheds instead of springing back, a full rescreen costs less per panel than repairing tears one at a time.
Storm damage
Summer storms and falling branches tear panels and pop the spline out of its channel.
We replace the damaged panels. A loose panel keeps tearing every time the wind catches it, so the repair is smaller if it is caught early.
Dirty but not torn
Algae and mildew turn intact screens green or black.
That calls for a cleaning, not a rescreen: a low-pressure soft wash of the screens and the frame.
A recent job: three panels in Thonotosassa
In July 2026, in Thonotosassa (33592), we replaced three screen panels of a pool cage: the door panel, a large panel and a lower panel.
Rescreen or clean?
If the mesh is whole but green or black from algae and mildew, the cage needs pool cage cleaning, a low-pressure soft wash with the pool protected. If the mesh is torn, sagging, pulled out of its channel or brittle, it needs rescreening. When only part of the cage is torn, we can rescreen those panels and clean the rest.
Will the new panels match?
New mesh is darker and tighter than mesh that has been in the sun for years, so single new panels stand out at first. If the difference bothers you, a full rescreen gives the cage an even look.
HOAs and condominium pools
We rescreen common-area pool enclosures for HOAs and condo associations. We schedule around pool hours and send the certificate of insurance before the job.
Window screens and screen doors
Torn window screens and screen doors are on their own page: window screen and screen door repair.

Questions about pool cage rescreening
How do you price a rescreen?
By panel, with different prices for wall panels, upper or roof panels and door panels. For a full cage we count the panels and quote the whole job.
Do I need to be home?
Only to give us access to the backyard and the pool area.
Do you repair the aluminum frame?
No. Our work is the mesh and the spline. If we see structural damage, we tell you so you can call an aluminum enclosure contractor.
What does the 90-day warranty cover?
Our labor. If spline we installed pops out or the mesh comes loose within 90 days, we come back and fix it.
